The 21st Annual Caribbean Dermatology Conference will be held October 31 – November 3, 2012 in Georgetown, Guyana, at the Pegasus Hotel. The official accommodation room block for CDA 2012 is being provided at the Princess Hotel.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is being provided at the Princess Hotel Guyana, located at Providence East Bank Demerara, 20 minutes from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport and 15 minutes away from the Conference venue. Conference Rates

Single Occupancy Rate – US$90 per room per night
Double Occupancy Rate – US$110 per room per night

The 2012 CDA Conference rate at the Princess Hotel includes breakfast but does not include taxes of 16%. Transportation to the Conference venue at the Pegasus Hotel Guyana, approximately 15 minutes away will be provided.

When making your bookings please note that Conference Registration opens on Wednesday October 31, and the Scientific Sessions begin on the morning of Thursday November 1. The Conference will end on Saturday November 3, with a leisure tour scheduled for that afternoon. In order to enjoy the full range of planned educational and social activities, we encourage participants to plan to arrive at the Princess Hotel in Georgetown on Wednesday October 31, and depart on Sunday, November 4.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

International Air travel
Guyana is served by the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (Airport Code: GEO) in Georgetown which is located approximately 20 minutes travel by taxi, from the Princess Hotel. Airlines which service the Cheddi Jagan International Airport include Caribbean Airlines, Delta Airlines, EZ-JET, LIAT Airlines and Suriname Airways.

Embarkation/Departure Tax
Passengers departing Guyana are charged an Embarkation Tax of GYD $4,000 (US$20) payable after check-in at the airport.

The following persons are exempt from paying this tax:

  1. Transit passengers remaining in Guyana for a period not exceeding 48 hours.
  2. Children under 7 years of age.
  3. Official representatives of the government of any country and UN Officials, their wives and children under 21 years of age.
  4. Members of the Armed Forces of Guyana travelling on duty.

Passport and Visa Requirements
All visitors require a passport which is valid for at least 6 months. Those arriving by plane are required to have an onward plane ticket.

Nationals of specific European countries, Commonwealth countries, the United States of America, Suriname, Switzerland and Cuba do not require a visa to enter Guyana. Airport Transfers
The CDA’s recommended provider of transfers from the airport is Taxi. A transfer from Cheddi Jagan International Airport to the Princess Hotel is approximately US$25.
